Cooper Vuna suspended for two weeks of rugby

Melbourne Rebels winger Cooper Vuna has been suspended from playing rugby for two weeks for a dangerous tackle on his opposite number Kade Poki of the Highlanders.
SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Mike Heron has accepted a guilty plea from Cooper Vuna of the Rebels for contravening Law 10.4 (j) Lifting a player from the ground and dropping or driving that player into the ground, after he was Cited during a Super Rugby Match at the Weekend.
In the incident, Vuna lifted Highlanders winger Kade Poki in a tackle and dropped him to the ground with no regard for his safety. Poki’s shoulder and upper back contacted the ground in a manner that placed his head and neck at risk of injury.
Cooper Vuna has been suspended from all forms of the game for two weeks up to and including the 14th of April 2012.
The incident occurred in the 56th minute of the match between the Highlanders and Rebels in Invercargill on Friday 30th March.
